Albert Casals. Barcelona.

We all need a little perspective sometimes.

I was just telling a friend in Lille, who shares my love of hitchhiking, that my hitchhiking days were now in the past, now that standing in the one spot has become more difficult.

And then I saw this:

This amazing young guy has been in a wheelchair since he was just 5 years old. Since then, he has developed a love of travel, and hitchhikes around the world (he has already visited 75 countries).

So if I was feeling a bit sorry for myself that my own hitchhiking days were now over, then I have now given myself a good shake – and polished my hitchhiking thumb 🙂

Like Couchsurfing, hitchhiking is a brilliant way to meet some of the most beautiful souls on the planet. The fact that both are free, is just a bonus!
